Bangkok Trip Part 1

Woo-hoo~!! I am finally going to blog about my Bangkok trip! Robin and I went to Bangkok in October 2013. I am 4 months late in blogging about it but better late than never right?

We took Jetstar there. Our plane tickets cost about $500 plus in total. I can't really remember the exact amount. Heard that the plane tickets to Bangkok now is really cheap but.. don't know if it's safe to go there now. Better to wait and monitor the situation there first.

Having breakfast at the airport first since no food and drink onboard.

Our plane!

Off we go~

If I remember correctly, we took about 2 hours plus to reach Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. By the way, we asked for a meter cab at the airport counter but as the cab driver was turning out of the airport, he didn't want to go by meter. We refused and insisted that he turned on the meter. The total amount on the meter was only 200 plus baht. Gave him 300 baht but he didn't return us any change and kept arguing with us. WTH lah~!! Cheater!

Took a cab to our hotel. Hate the cab driver. Read above.

We stayed in Glow Pratunum (read here for more info - http://www.zinchospitality.com/glowbyzinc/pratunam) Hotel. It is located on top of Shibuya 19 Fashion Mall. Very near to Pratunum area. The service there is pretty good and the staff are very friendly. However, I do not like the location. It is not near the BTS Skytrain. By the way, the nearest BTS is Ratchathewi BTS Skytrain but it is a good 15 minutes walk. Not very nice to be walking that far in the hot Bangkok weather.

We reached early and our room was not ready yet so.. we decided to have lunch at the restaurant there while waiting for our room to be ready. The food at Luna was great!

The menu.

Our refreshing welcome drink. Think it's lemongrass or something.

Robin got a 500 baht birthday gift certificate as it was his birthday the next day. This is a surprise to us. How lovely and sweet of the hotel. Thanks Glow Pratunum!

Yummy food. I love the satay!

They have many different sauces. Can try.

Checked in to our hotel room after lunch. The room is big and nice. I love it! Most importantly, there's free wifi and the wifi is pretty stable.

There is a swimming pool in the hotel. It is located at level 8.

For those of you who MUST exercise even though you are on holiday, there's also a gym on level 8.

Enough about the hotel. Let's go and explore around the hotel!

Pratunum market area.

It was very crowded there. Too many people around.

Had dinner at Platinum Mall food court which is just opposite our hotel.

My water mealon juice. I can't remember what drink did Robin ordered.

My favourite tom yam. How can one go to Thailand and not have tom yam?!?!?!

Our hotel from afar.

We walked and shopped around the area after dinner. Managed to walk to Central World somehow (it was quite far) and we discovered the popular bag store, NaRaYa. Haha. Of course we must go in and take a look!

It was very crowded in the store. Many people are buying a lot of NaRaYa stuff! In case you haven't heard of NaRaYa, check them out here - http://www.naraya.hk/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=53&lang=en

After buying some stuff from NaRaYa (photos below), we continued to explore the area. Saw some game stalls and went to try.

Need to throw the darts to burst the balloons.

Robin was trying to win something for me =)

Went to McCafe and got some drinks. Mine was orange juice and Robin's was green apple juice. I also bought some cakes to celebrate Robin's birthday with him later. Heehee~

Krispy Kreme at Siam Paragon. The donuts were sold out by the time we reached =.=

My purchases for the day.

Forgot to include this bracelet in the photo above.

We took a cab back to our hotel from Siam Paragon. Was too tired to walk back. We were charged 200 baht which is damn expensive! Sigh. None of the taxi drivers want to turn on his meter! Anyway, we were too tired to bargain anymore =.=
